I’m Lila, founder of HeartSong Cacao, and I believe to love & be loved is the point of it.

For the last decade of my life, I’ve traveled the world seeking to understand what unites us. I have lived among many cultures, spent deep time with elders of every background, and sat in countless circles that asked the same question: Why are we here?

Every answer I found returned to the same truth: love.

Love is the thread that runs through all creation. It is an eternal force, outside of both time and space. Love is where we come from, what we return to, and our deepest purpose.

I set out to create HeartSong Cacao because I saw how deeply heartbroken our world has become. We are living through an era of immense changes, and with those changes, naturally, comes growing pains.

While holding space for others over the last few years- from survivors of the Nova music festival, soldiers returning from war, women from the middle eastern diaspora of all backgrounds, and many others- I witnessed how cacao helped people reconnect to themselves and to love. This simple, sacred drink had the power to open hearts & remind people what we are here for.

And so I took it upon myself to create the world’s best ceremonial cacao brand, rooted in love & reverence every step of the way. I flew to Guatemala (where I had previously spent time with Mayan elders and studied cacao’s history), and dedicated myself fully to my mission.

Too many serendipities to name occurred throughout my journey! However, a favorite was landing in the mountains that we source from and discovering that it is 13 women at a time who work in processing the cacao. In gematria (the Hebrew numerical system of words), 13 is the same value as both אהבה (love) and אחד (unity)- I knew that I was in the right place!

HeartSong Cacao was born. The highest quality, most devotionally produced cacao in the world. We are kosher certified so that more people have access to this life-changing practice in a way that feels safe & sacred to them. Every block is the product of immense ancestral wisdom, prayed over, and brought forth with true belief in the power of the heart.

I truly believe that cacao can help us usher in a new age of peace, where we can relate to one another from our most natural instinct: to love.
